Morocco: Aid Al Wahda - Unity Day 2026
On October 31, 2026, Morocco celebrates for the first time Aid Al Wahda (Unity Day), a new national holiday proclaimed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, symbolizing the national unity and territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

Aid Al Wahda: Morocco’s New National Holiday of Unity and Territorial Integrity
In view of the historic turning point in the national Cause process and mindful of the decisive developments brought about by Resolution 2797/2025 of the Security Council, which was the subject of the recent Speech addressed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist and glorify Him, to His faithful people, it has been decided to proclaim October 31 of each year as a national holiday and an occasion on which His Majesty the King grants His pardon.
A New Era for the Kingdom
His Majesty the King, may God preserve Him, has graciously named this national holiday “Aid Al Wahda” (Unity Day), with all that it entails in terms of meanings and references to the national unity and the unshakable territorial integrity of the Kingdom. This holiday shall be a uniting national occasion for expressing attachment to the Kingdom’s national sacred values and its legitimate rights.
Meaning and Symbolism
Aid Al Wahda marks a decisive moment in the history of modern Morocco. This day celebrates:
- National Unity: A powerful symbol of cohesion among all Moroccans, from North to South, East to West
- Territorial Integrity: International recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over its entire territory
- Royal Vision: His Majesty’s continued commitment to the Kingdom’s progress and dignity
- Royal Pardon: A tradition of forgiveness and reconciliation that strengthens social bonds
Reorganization of Official Occasions
It has also been decided that the Royal Speech will henceforth be delivered on two official occasions:
- The first through the Speech on the glorious Throne Day
- The second at the opening of Parliament
In doing so, His Majesty the King, as Commander of the Faithful and Head of State, reserves the right to address His faithful people at any time and on any occasion that His Majesty the King, may God preserve Him, deems appropriate.
Impact on Green March Celebrations
The festivities marking the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the glorious Green March shall also proceed as planned, albeit without the Sovereign addressing a Speech to the Nation on this occasion. This reflects the new structure of the Kingdom’s official communications while preserving the historical importance of the Green March.
A Day of National Celebration
Aid Al Wahda 2026 will be celebrated throughout the Kingdom with:
- Official ceremonies in all cities
- Cultural and patriotic activities
- Moments of reflection on national achievements
- Celebrations of unity in Moroccan diversity
This new national holiday continues the values that unite the Moroccan people around their King and nation, strengthening the bonds of solidarity and belonging to the homeland.
